Galaxy Power Incorporated Introduces QuickVue-QuickSet Managment Software for Battery Recharging and Formation 28th August, 2003
QuickVue-QuickSet Battery Managment Software is an application that allows mobile product designers to optimize battery technology for their products. It shortens the time to market for products and improves the functionality of batteries for the consumer.
August, 2003 -- Galaxy Power is the leading provider of patented pulse charge/termination technology. Pulse Charge/Termination is the algorthim incorporated in Galaxy Power's QuickSaver Product line. This software permits all battery charging parameters to be monitored during the charging or formation cycle. It can loag all data and be accessed from remote locations. Currently NASA is considering using QuickVue to monitor equipment on the International Space Station and the Space Shuttle. QuickVue presents all information in a graphical format as well as a text format. QuickVue greatly simplifies the analysis of charging system and the battery being charged.
QuickVue is capable of being used with all of the Galaxy QuickSaver products. It greatly reduces the time to market in the product desing cycle. Compared to general-purpose test equipment that is available for battery analysis. QuickVue is capable of analyzing the charging process in greater detail. It "sees" what is happening within the charger during the charging process. Commercially available battery analyzers sell for $3000. QuikcVue is available for $275.
QuickVue has additional QuickSet capablility. This feature allows all of the key charging parameters to be modified in-circuit via PC interface. QuickSet will totally reprogram the controller via the device serial port.
As new batteries technology become available or better charging algorthims are developed a manufacturer could make a software upgade available on this web site. This could be downloaded and installed in the device via the internet.
An interesting example of this follows: Computer diagnosis is typically used in the Automobile industry. Software upgrades could be networked to the diagnositic equipment when a customer car is in for service and the on board computers updated with new releases. As auto systems become more and more microchip dependent the ability to upgrade the onboard charging system is a nice functionality for software optimization.
