Fremont, CA June 3rd, 2003 -- SchmartBOARD, a new division of Intellect Lab, plans to unveil a revolutionary new product on July 11th. Electronic Engineers are invited to register for an opportunity to learn about the new technology, and leave with a free SchmartBOARD product.
Every company that designs a product that involves electronics must first create a functional prototype. The prototype must be designed and modified to adhere to FCC and other regulations in addition to correct functionality. Today, an engineer first must spend weeks doing a layout of the board on the computer. This is required to order a PCB. The PCBs in small volumes are expensive and take 2 weeks to receive (Faster if one wants to spend a lot more money). Once the PCB is received, the board is assembled and tested. If the testing goes well, the engineer is finished. This is rarely the case though. Small changes or tweaks require the need to again order a PCB and do the process over. Sometimes this process will happen numerous times before a perfect prototype is attained.
The Schmartboard solution, which is a piece of hardware, solves the two issues that impede new product development, namely time and money. Schmartboard allows one to create a prototype without the need for having a layout done first, and without the need to order the PCBs. By using Schmartboard, changes and modifications can be done on the fly. The concept will save weeks if not months, and hundreds if not thousands of dollars (not including the savings in labor time). Intellect Lab believes that SchmartBOARD will revolutionize product development for companies who use it.
