Canon Certifies PulseCore Under Green Procurement Program
2nd July, 2008
Underscoring its commitment to environmental excellence, PulseCore Semiconductor has been certified by Canon Group (hereinafter referred as "Canon") as meeting the company's strict Green Procurement Standards.
Received earlier this month, the Canon Certificate of Green Activity demonstrates that PulseCore has "satisfied the environmental management activity required by Canon Green Procurement Standards."
Canon's Green Procurement program outlines guidelines that vendors must follow in order to provide parts and materials to the global imaging and technology company. Canon aims to procure products that minimize the use or generation of hazardous substances and that maximize environmental conservation, and vendors are scored on "Green" issues during the procurement process to ensure only responsible environmental friendly materials are sourced and used.
"Environmental concerns around the world have generated significant interest and demand for 'green' integrated circuits, and it is a point of pride that a global technology leader and customer like Canon has validated PulseCore's environmental approach," says Mike Hogan, CEO at PulseCore.
PulseCore Semiconductor is dedicated to environment, health and safety excellence and to meeting or exceeding regulatory requirements with respect to the use of hazardous substances. PulseCore's integrated circuits are lead- free, halogen-free, and fully compliant with the RoHS Directive, which restricts use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
Several PulseCore programs focus on how to further reduce the use of hazardous substances, chemicals and/or emissions, and the company also has successfully established a worldwide environmental management system.
